For starters if I feel the urge to listen to some music on the go, I often pull out my discman or walkman and put on a cd or cassette tape respectively.

I really prefer succinct devices which focus on one purpose, instead of the modern alternatives which act more like a digital swiss army knife. Modern technology can be very distracting, and is often the jack of all trades master of none imo.
