quoting starbreaker:
Aren't personal websites supposed to be messy and incomplete? Welcome to the basement.
Absolutely! The more it looks like a 1996 Geocities site, the better!

Update: I can't find my Starforged book, so since I'm going to be doing PDF, I'll be doing the Sundered Isles, which should be available for backers next week!
Let's Play Ironsworn: Starforged!
by NobodyFix in analog games on apr 9, 2024
With the recent completion of the Kickstarter, and my personal excitement for The Sundered Isles, I've been itching to start a new Starforged campaign.
What is Starforged? It's the sci-fi follow up to the award-winning (and free) Ironsworn, a GMless ...
Recipe dumpster

I was planning to make salisbury steak from a Cook's Country recipe, but my partner decided to reorganize the kitchen, and I didn't want to move a bunch of crap. Maybe next week
plex server to replace streaming services?
by NobodyFix in general on apr 9, 2024
<quoting=cassie postID=2405 threadID=218> is there a reason that you are transcoding at all? it is a big drain of system resources and can be averted by just direct streaming everything. if the media is in certain formats though you won't be able to direct ...
Where do tabletop games go?
by NobodyFix in community feedback on apr 4, 2024
tabletop games are a prime activity in basements, but there doesn't seem to be a forum for them.

Stability issues returned, but I think I accidentally fixed it by unintentionally erasing my cache. A clean install of only the software I need (radarr, sonarr, SABnzdb, Jellyfin, Jellyseerr).
I still need a video card for transcoding, as I misread the ...

Helldivers 2, it rules.
Except I can't play right now because my PS+ sub expired yesterday, and I can't afford to resub until I get paid tomorrow thanks to some unexpected car repairs.
some of the best movies you don't "get"
by NobodyFix in tv, film, and video on mar 11, 2024
I can understand not liking 2001, it's slow, and philosophical, but it is wall to wall technical achievements and all that space ship porn looks amazing in 4k UHD.
Kubrick sadly, and smartly had everything destroyed after release to make sure none of ...
plex server to replace streaming services?
by NobodyFix in general on mar 4, 2024
I think I fixed the periodic need for a reboot: My docker container was too full. I erased a few docker images that I wasn't using. I need to figure out how to make my docker container bigger, as Todarr pegs it to 100% and bad things start happening.

Part of the problem with old movies, tends to be cultural osmosis can ruin it for you.
There are tons of films that got referenced and parodied over the years, that you've seen enough of it even without having seen it. The Simpsons back in the 90's was ...

plex server to replace streaming services?
by NobodyFix in general on feb 27, 2024
Sorry about the double post, but I've run into a couple of issues with my server.
First, for some reason a lot of media defaults to French, which isn't a huge deal, since I just have to switch the language over and turn off the subtitles. It's more of ...
How clean is your home?
by NobodyFix in general on feb 27, 2024
<quoting=the-syreth-clan postID=2195 threadID=265> I honestly came in here thinking this will be about our actual, physical homes. We just re-organized and cleaned out a bunch of things we no longer needed. Anyway, 42 for me: 32 folders, 10 files. </quoting ...

<quoting=amykhar postID=2200 threadID=218> I started using Plex many years ago. It seems I bought a lifetime Plex Pass back in the day. It must have been incredibly cheap. I recently started using it again, and I’m blown away with how professional some ...

<quoting=starbreaker postID=2166 threadID=263> I haven't been using LLMs at all. I don't trust them, I don't like that the data used to train them wasn't necessarily ethically acquired, and I didn't spend decades learning so that I could become dependent ...

Update if anyone is still paying attention.
My server has been running mostly solid (had to reboot it a couple times, plus a power outage made me realize the importance of a static IP). It's been pretty great. It's amazing just how easy it is to find ...

I haven't done computer shit in 15 years, but I've managed to build a media server. I put it together a couple weeks ago, but for some reason Newegg shipped me a power supply from China, which came with a Chinese power cable, so I had to order one that ...
