Hytale is a sandbox and roleplaying game first announced in 2018, made by Hypixel Studios.

It may look like Minecraft at first sight, but there is much more to it; if you're interested I suggest you take a look at its news blog. Unfortunately the developers have been quiet lately (the latest blog post is from July 2022 at the time of writing this), but I strongly believe they should take their time to deliver the best possible game they can.

Personally what I like the most about this game is its variety (both in the game world and the ways you can play it) and its extensibility. Is there anyone else waiting for Hytale? What are your thoughts about it?

i saw a couple videos about it and it seems pretty cool. the mechanical depth it seems to have in comparison to minecraft is pretty exciting! there seems to be some activity on their twitter but the silence on their blog is a little worrying

I think it'll bring up the same situation Palworld is in, being called a copy by M*crosoft.

Had it actually been released in time, it could've been a game with a huge cult following like Minecraft. But after five years and a lack of transparency from Hypixel, I don't think anyone's even half as excited about it. I also heard that they were going to release it as a f2p game, and that just makes it even worse.

For me it looked more like Veloren at first sight. In fact, it looks even more like Veloren the second sight.

I hope this releases eventually, anything to scratch that Cube World itch.
