the US enacted a law banning Tiktok this weekend and this was the message that was shown for a little over 24 hours. Until now and it's apparently back with Trump committing to overturn it tomorrow on Monday.

This is completely fucking pointless imo. The US is making an example of a site that has already been copied and reproduced on sites like Instagram and Youtube and at this point short-form video is pretty unstoppable and is not going away.

I think short-form video is definitely going to have some bad long-term effects on people using the internet primarily through these sites and I think it's bad for people as a whole, but also choosing Tiktok as a scapegoat isn't really accomplishing much.
