I found out about this forum from a bluesky thread of people complaining that the site is already going to shit after only a few months of existing. My interests are First Person Shooters (especially ones older than me), Action Movies, Drawing, and a bunch of other stuff I can't really place at the moment. I try to stay creative, though I burn out quickly and rarely ever finish any of my projects.

What fps do you like comrade?

I quite like Doom (new and old), Unreal, Duke3D, Blood, Serious Sam, and Half-Life, and in the realm of Neo-Retro FPSes, I'm very big on Dusk, Ultrakill, and Ion Fury. I also partake in a cheeky bit of Call'a Dooty every now and again (mostly the Treyarch games though), and though it's not First-Person, I really like the Max Payne games.

Good choices indeed. Serious sam any good btw? I remember it for early 2000s but never got around to playing it, it is rather controversial like Postal series, so it has that going for it. Doom is solid the new ones are especially cool. Have you tried boltgun?

honestly, i never understood the bluesky craze. Like....a lot of people finally got the motivation to delete their twitter accounts. Why not just keep it that way, instead of mass migrating to another twitter-like site?

Serious Sam is controversial? First I've heard of it. No, serious sam is just very mediocre I feel, but it still has a place in my heart. It's my favourite 5/10 game series. The soundtrack slaps as well.

Because, frankly, social media is addicting. The endless stream of media and content is difficult to resist, but as Twitter is rotting ever more because of nazi ideology everybody is looking for an alternative.

Welcome! I don't know what people on Bsky are saying, but look around for yourself, this place is pretty nice, there aren't many posts per day but IMO that's not really a problem.

Have you played Ashes 2063? It's a really cool Doom Mod that plays more like a build engine game, it's a really fun tongue in cheek post apocalyptic shooter, kind of got an old Fallout/Wasteland vibe to it.

I think a lot of people really "liked" twitter (were addicted to it) but the site was coming down with the most horrible people ever and user hostile design decisions, so the chance to jump ship to "Twitter, but not X" was really attractive. It's just another hell site, but it's a slightly nicer hellsite, so far anyway.

Mastadon was already available, but if you aren't into linux or niche extremist politics you weren't going to be using Mastadon no matter what happened. It'll be fun seeing whatever Bluesky inevitably degrades into once they want a return on investment.
