Have you considered a button wall? You're an artist so I bet you could create an 88x31 in no time flat! If you do end up going that route, let me know, I'd love to exchange buttons with you.
Finally, I like your approach to site updating. One feed where you'll update people about everything, I think it's a valid approach :^)
