If you have any interest in FPS games I would highly recommend giving The Finals a chance. The Finals is a 3v3v3v3 or 3v3v3 class based shooter where the main objective is collecting either cash or cash boxes and cashing them out, whoever has the most cash at the end of the round wins. Pretty simple right?

I'm uncertain if its the simplicity or the fact that the teams are smaller, or a million other smaller game design choices, but this feels like a return to the days of battlefield 4 and COD. That is to say it just a game that's just enjoyable to play. I for so long have been off put by modern fps games like overwatch, valorant, and csgo because they are too competitive. It feels hard to just have a fun and casual match because if you aren't try harding your teammates will basically yell at you the whole match. This doesn't happen in The Finals, and its a breath of fresh air.

Another thing that this game does, that I think other games should take notes from, is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. In recent years many shooters have tried to be "realistic" either with shooting mechanics, the world physics, or even the map and gadget choice. They all feel as though they need to justify every decision they make, but The Finals throws all this out the window by setting up the game as a VR game show set in the future. This allows for anachronistic guns, announcers that comment on the game, and an aesthetic that doesn't try to be anything but fun and engaging.

Anyway 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
