I recently stumbled upon http://www.tachyonstorm.net/choose/start.html, its a Text Adventure in your browser but built as a stateless interactive story where each room is a separarate html page.

It made me wonder if anyone here had seen similar?

Interesting. It reminds me of the 'choose your own adventure' books I read as a kid. I presume it's put together with some kind of editor and then published to plain HTML?

EDIT:

Is this what people use Twine for?

EDIT: EDIT:

I found this place.

https://chooseyourstory.com/

So these kind of games must be a thing.

While we're on the topic of Twine, here's a great resource:

Interactive Fiction Community Forum

I've come to bear quite the affection for writing. I've been interested in writing a story, but I don't feel I've come across a message that I'm sufficiently passionate (autistic) about. Like, personally, if imma make someone read a story I want to really deliver.

I keep the Interactive Fiction community in the back of my head, in case I feel it'd serve as a good tool for doing so if I ever decide on it.

It’s probably some kind of mid-life crisis, but I’ve been kicking around a few game ideas for the last year or so. So I'm always interested in reading up on engines and tools. Thanks.

You could always start with a short story, park message for now, and explore an idea or concept you find intriguing. Hey, maybe you'll surprise yourself!
