I was on the Yesterweb Forums last Friday and read through a thread about creating animated buttons. A member mentioned aseprite and how much they liked it. I gave it a shot and managed to make a retro-styled 88x31 button + a 240x60 banner for my site:

Since I'm not an artist, getting assets from elsewhere helped me a lot. The button has free pixel art from Admurin and the banner has a free png from pngwing.

So, these aren't purely mine, in the end. But, I still spent quite a bit of time on them and feel I remixed a bit. I'm happy with them, and that I didn't let my lack of drawing skills keep from creating.

Ever since I saw the MelonLand Surf Club svg:

I knew I wanted something like it for my own. And I finally do! Check out my new site logo:

This site doesn't have an 88x31 button, right? Maybe have a contest for it?
