i'm curious because i've actually been trying to learn Cantonese the past 6 months - what helped you the most learn english? I'm reaching the end of my lessons and i'm not really sure where to go next to keep getting better

Cantonese can be a difficult language to learn since there isn't a standard for cantonese. Books can have different spellings and locals have different accents.

i haven't really studied the written part at all, but i'm finding speaking is coming pretty easily (compared to latin-based languages). not having to worry about things like articles, gendered-words, etc is so nice.

i have been speaking a little bit to my girlfriend tho and it does seem like there's some differences in what i'm learning and how she speaks tho.
