this thread is going to be about discussing the new account settings. below is a list of the newly added ones and what they do:

bionic reading mode

when enabled, posts in threads will adopt a bionic reading style where the first few characters of each word are bolded. it's supposed to help human eyes read quicker, but we'll see. please note that this won't work for all paragraphs - it's still in an experimental mode and there's still a few quirks i have to iron out to get it to behave nicely with our markdown converter. for example, this paragraph doesn't support bionic reading because there's a link in it. read more about bionic reading here

anchor page

this setting is mainly for threads with lots of images. the problem with clicking on the "last read" button to go back to a thread you previously read is that if the page loads in a lot of images, your place on the page might jump and you might be looking at a post you already read and not actually where you last left off. this setting uses javascript to reanchor the page back to where you're supposed to be and should enhance the reading experience for image-heavy threads

posting hints

this one is simple. you might notice a big block of text when drafting a posting that will give you tips on how to use markdown. you can now get rid of that by turning off this setting.
