I can say MC is my goto in pretty much any case. I go mainly modded though (pre-made and custom) since vanilla bores me.

As for current game, I am unfortunately playing Diablo 4. Been playing Blizzard since they were just a brisk winter chill on the wind. In terms of the game itself though, I am very disappointed. So many things this could have been and I think it failed at them all. But I will keep on and get at least 1 toon to 100% and maybe complete a season once they roll out.

As much as I want to get the FFVII remake, I just can't. I have looked at the visuals, read some of the updated/changed story, and watched some game play of it. It is pretty, but I feel like it lost what it was on the PS. I do have it on Steam (the original, not remake) though and even went so far as to print out the original Brady Games walk-through so I can 100% it. Ahhh, nostalgia.

yeah the game is super cringe with all the anime grunts and sounds. It's written by the Kingdom Hearts people so i really don't trust where the dialogue and plot is headed.

the combat is really engaging and the music is killer, so that's why I continued to play.

I pretty much agree. I do think part of what is lost though is that back in 1996 or whenever the original came out, no one had seen anything like FFVII before. Just like you can't listen to Huey Lewis and the News for the first time again, it's something you can't really go back to.

I have the original version on CD ROM somewhere, but if the remake goes on a deep discount, I might get it.

I'm mostly into minecraft these days, but I have this dumb tendency to burn out on my mega-projects and force myself to finish them. In short I'm not really enjoying the game the way I play it but I'm too pig-headed to change my ways.

Just tried Tower of Fantasy on PS5. The UI is made of jank and the character creation screen didn't make sense, so I noped out. Gonna call it "Tower of Futanari" instead if I can ever be arsed to mock it (and ever again admit to having downloaded it in the first place).

Might stick with Honkai Star Rail for a while instead. Kinda reminds me of Xenosaga. Though a more accurate name might be "Gacha Waifu Rail".

I've pretty much never played anything but Minecraft, though not much for the past 2 years or so. Recently I've had a lot more free time, but the new M*crosoft stuff is holding me back from the usual pastime.

I've heard of Minetest, but've never really given it a go. What's it like? Has anyone here played/modded it?

Currently re-downloaded AC: Odyssey. I never quite finished it before but I own it, so I figured I might as well try to see it through.

Beat 'Marvel's Spider-Man 2'. Was mid, but not bad. I think I liked the 1st one more. Definitely enjoyed it more than 'God of War: Ragnarok'. I consider this game quite respectful of time. You can beat it in a day if you only do story-mode, like I did.

I frequently play Pokémon Unite (it's my first MOBA and I play it with a friend who is a seasoned Dota 2 player). On the side, I finished Xenoblade Chronicles 3 some weeks ago and I'm being slow with the DLC story. I'll finally play Nier Automata after this.

After being given a Switch a friend was bored of, I finally caved and got Mario Odyssey. Having played it for like 30 hours... yeah it is hard not to get sucked into that unbelievably polished charm of it all. Shame Nintendo is so terrible towards any one that doesn't play exactly by their rules, because they do some amazing things.

Every corporation is a private dictatorship. At least Nintendo is honest about it. And at least their management seems the type to fall on their swords instead of immediately resorting to layoffs if they fuck up badly enough. Can't say that about any American corp.

I'm getting back into Final Fantasy XVI, playing NG+ it in the harder FF mode. There isn't much I care to do in FFXIV right now in the lull between the last major Endwalker patch and the release of Dawntrail.

I had played the demo for Unicorn Overlord, Vanillaware's take on the sort of strategy RPG done by Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen and Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. It's solid, but I think I'll wait for a price drop and save my money for Shadow of the Erdtree and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.
