i played kirby & the forgotten land coop with my partner. the gameplay was really fun, including all the little challenge worlds. the coop wasn't super exciting for me as player 2, since you just get to be waddle dee without any upgrades.

Hogwarts legacy is really impressive and totally worth playing. im only roughly 40% done, but just walking or flying around in the world is so satisfying. The castle itself is really amazing too since its nearly a perfect 1:1 to the books.

Tibia. Yes, "that" MMO.

Nostalgia hit me; noobs at the depot, "pl? br? gib moni kurwa crl", jokes about Paint Online (hey, now it got sound!), awful interface, most content being premium, seeing bots, killing bots, botting, noobs saying "u hunted" in non-PvP worlds, the worms and fishing rod incident*... all of that was 20 years ago or so, it was great.

*I was, like, 14? And my 6yo cousin played too. He phoned me, crying: "WAAH, I DIED IN TIBIA! I LOST MY WORMS, I LOST MY FISHING ROD, I LOST EVERYTHING!". I had to log in, buy him a new fishing rod, get some worms (required for fishing), go to wherever he was in the game, and give him the items. THEN he stopped crying. (We still joke in the family about that event.)

I've been playing Hyper Demon atm.

This game is absolutely insane. If I play it for more than 20 minutes I genuinely feel out of breath. It takes my eyes a bit to adjust too. It has a very DOOM-style approach to gaming where the objective is just to kill everything as fast as you can. If you look at the leaderboard clips, they're borderline art pieces. This game is visually stunning.

Oh yes - picked up Doom 2016 and been playing it on my Steam Deck, really enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

The trackpads work really well for aiming as well.

Having fun with Rogue Heroes couch multiplayer on the switch. PC I just picked up Astroneer but admittedly I played Tetris Effect and Slay the Spire briefly instead.

I still don't have a Switch. I didn't get a PS5 until last August.

Doom 2016 is the ultimate love letter to everything Doom. The folks that made that COMPLETELY understood what made the original Doom series so great and brought it up to speed in such a wonderful fashion. The best it can be described as it high frequency chess with guns. I also get the feeling they were heavily inspired by the Brutal Doom mod.

Doom 2016 is now the benchmark on series reboots. Don't just go for retrospection - stand on the shoulders of those giants and go higher!

Playing old school is wild. It's like getting in a time machine to 2010. Which, you know. Has its baggage. But it's also a super fun experience :D

+1 for OSRS. RuneScape hits all the right notes. The new HD mods for it through RuneLite client are incredible.

I'm looking for a new shooter to play. I really want to get into Valorant but letting Rito Games have full root of my computer with Vanguard anticheat is... concerning. Is the new Overwatch any good?

Otherwise I mostly just raid in Classic WoW with my wife, don't have much time to dedicate to any games besides that.

"new" overwatch is just old overwatch with a battlepass and some balance changes
