Oh man, there's so many. Hollow Knight is one of my favorites. Hornet and City of Tears are standout hits.

Everything from Touhou is a banger, Reach for the moon, Immortal Smoke is probably my favorite. Cemetery of Onbashira and Fires of Hokkai are incredibly underrated.

Every song from Octopath Traveler is good, but Decisive Battle stands out as my favorite.

I've never actually played Sonic Colors, but This song is good enough to justify the entire game.

On the topic of games I've never played, the Torna Battle Theme from Xenoblade is amazing.

All time GOAT though is Stickerbrush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country II. No other soundtrack is close to me.

hehe, different tastes then! it's the only game i've 100%-ed. the movement tech you unlock is real sweet. though it's made me ill-equipped to play hades, because hades is clunkier, and so i'll get myself in situations my instincts say i can get out of and then i can't.

on topic, star craft 1 terran campaign. ooh yeah

I play Final Fantasy XIV for the story, and for the symphonic power metal.

Pretty much any FF game up to FFVII. After VII I just cannot get into the games anymore. Played XIV with the wife and sister for about a year and just got over the gameplay, but the music was great.

Old School games though: As before any FF game, the Dragon Warrior game, and someone mentioned above Xenoblade. Also have to give shoutout to ChronoTrigger and Actraiser.

oh man Planet Wisp. such such a good song. There's this amazing cover by Aivi Tran and Dave Harris that is just so special.

speaking of UFO i really really adore Provincial Makai City Esoteria, Shou's stage theme. The way it switches between 5/4 and 6/4 is so groovy. i've also been playing some DDC lately and i think its title theme might be my favorite in the series. Interesting how it has the Necrofantasia leitmotif but Yukari isn't even involved in the plot (for once). edit: also check out this public piano cover i found while searching for a youtube link god dam

from other recent obsessions, i really loved Emerald Lakeside from Rabbit & Steel, very cute on the surface, and a little heartbreaking with the context of the game's lore. then there's Autumn Chill from uh, Mahjong Soul lol. It's not the most complex track in existence but idk, i'm just a sucker for 5/4 and stinky anime flutes. Europa from Starbound is so immensely comforting. This and Atlas always made me stop whatever i was doing in game and just listen to them with eyes closed.

would you believe that my favorites are from indie rpg inspired by earthbound with themes surrounding mental illness and trauma with routes that vary hugely depending on what in game actions you take anyways, i struggle to pick favorites with music so i picked iconic tracks i love games that alter your brain chemistry <3 undertale came out when i was in middle school so it latched on to my brain Instantly. omitting adjacent game deltarune bc it's not finished yet. omori is a different story obvs, i played it on the recommendation of a friend and i'm so glad i did.
