I haven't been there myself but I do know that the musicians have moved away from Bourbon street. My dad and a couple of my sisters went a couple months ago and they said that either to the north of the south of bourbon street was actually good and the other side was shit (I forget which one). Also my dad says the WWII museum is top notch so if you like museums check that out. As for food, all food is great in Louisiana so just pick a restaurant. Get some good homemade gumbo while you're there if possible

definitely all about the food. we had a lot of comfort food while roadtripping through Tennessee, so i'm definitely looking forward to more of that. i want to try out some hot chicken and bbq for sure. surprisingly, I didn't love the bbq i had while in Memphis, so i want to see if it's any better in NOLA

i used to live in st. claude/ lower 9th ward so thats the area i know best, definitely go to city park and just in general all the parks around are very pleasant. if you're a little daring and willing to bump shoulders with punks and DIY'rs, go to the end of the world at bywater. the abandoned military base is a very interesting relic and there's a lot of cool DIY art out that way.
